Create with passion
An independent studio building video games and mobile applications.
Sanctus Games is small, and that’s deliberate. I lead the work, and I bring in people I trust when a project needs a craft I don’t have. What there isn’t is a committee — no roadmap handed down, no one to talk me out of an idea because it hasn’t been done before. The calls are mine to make and mine to answer for.
This didn’t start as a business plan. It started because making things is what I do with my hours whether anyone is watching or not. The company came later, to give the work somewhere to live.
I’ve loved this medium my whole life — the ones that stayed with me long after the credits, and the ones I still think about years later. That’s a high bar to aim at. I’d rather aim at it and miss than aim lower and hit.
Most games get made by studying what worked last year and building a version of it. It’s the safe move, and it’s why so much of what ships feels like something you’ve already played.
I’m not interested in that. Building this way means I answer to no one about what gets made, and I intend to spend that freedom rather than waste it. If something I build feels familiar, I’ve failed.
The first thing out of Sanctus isn’t a game. It’s a companion app for physical trading card games — the ones with sleeves, binders, and a playmat that lives in your bag.
Supported at launch. More games to follow.
What it does, I’m not saying yet. There isn’t another app doing it, and I’d like to keep that true until launch.
Check your inbox — a confirmation link is on its way. You’re not on the list until you click it.
Testing opens next week. First round is limited.
Two games are in pre-production. They’re further out than the app and further along than nothing. The names come when they’re earned.
First-person extraction, built around a story rather than a scoreboard.
